SuperPress Theme Review
SuperPress Theme is a brand new WordPress theme created by my good friend and designer of this blog - Hyder Jaffari (aka Weborithm). What makes this theme so different than any other WordPress theme I've seen are the modules. So to defining SuperPress as just another WordPress theme is not possible. With the use of these modules you are able to create something unique without any coding experience or knowledge.
In fact, there are 8 color options and 9 modules for you to use with SuperPress:
Default
Newspaper
Sky
Lavender
Fruity
iHeartYou
Terra
SeaBreeze
Color Module - Select a color palette
RSS Module - Manage your RSS feed options
Media Module - Show featured videos or images
Advertising Module - Set Leaderboard and Sidebar ads
Header Module - Navigation and Header settings
Tab Module - Show a variety of content with tab module
Content Modules - Customize your content display
Sidebar Modules - Wide Sidebar? Narrow Sidebars? or Both!
Footer Modules - One, Two Or Three Widgetized Footer areas!
Customization Explored
I had the liberty of playing around with a test theme and all of the various modules and I was really impressed with how much you could change to alter the theme's look and functionality. In fact, just to give you a better idea of the customization of the theme I'll show you some of the features of the footer module.
So with this module you're able to select the number of footer areas you'd like to display on the blog. After saving changes you were then able to add WordPress widgets into each of these areas. There is also the ability to make the blog a fixed width or have it expand to encompass the entire browser window. This is just one example of the type of thing you can do with this modular based WordPress theme.
However, even with all of the modules and customizations available there are still a few things I'd like to have the ability to change such as the place the RSS displays. i.e. putting that in the right hand sidebar so that you can make more room for a larger header image? or putting the tabs module into the right hand sidebar as well so that you can use a header in the entire space? Granted the way it's set up now looks best but just having those additional options grant the theme that much more customization. I'm completely aware that if you give too much customization it's possible that people could get confused though which would distract users from the core experience of this theme - it's simplicity. I'd just like to see a little more customization available for the header.
Theme Support
I don't have a lot of experience with coding, design etc. but I was able to figure out everything that you can do in this theme without any difficulty. If you do have issues while using this theme you can also always go to the forum to post questions, request additional modules etc. The forum is a little sparse now, but Superpress is very new which helps to show you'll just have that much more attention from the developer if you have any issues. Any updates to the theme (new color schemes, additional modules etc.) will be made available for free to all customers.
Conclusion
Superpress is available for $97 which you can use on unlimited domains, with no membership or credit removal fees. Overall, I'd say the theme is worth the price especially because of the fact that you could literally use this on several blogs without it being stale. It's also really great for people that are not good at coding or altering WordPress themes because with the powerful back end admin section there isn't a need for those skills.
