Fast Cash for Creating Content Sites

Here's a quick and simple outline that can generate some relatively fast cash. I've not recommended this previously due to so many users doing it already, but it's still an option that can be beneficial if you want cash today without having to worry about PR update. If you're a fast writer you could create an article site today, and perhaps have it sold by tomorrow. Do not expect big $$$ from these sites, a range of $50-100 is about the average deal for these article sites.

So how do you create an article site? Well it's pretty simple. The easiest way is to download a free content management script. This will aid in managing your site. The scripts you can use I've listed below, you also have the option of manually building your site as well.

WordPress

You can use WordPress to build your site and have each blog post act as the article for the site.

CMS System

This one is new, but is pretty good

There are many content management scripts out there, so I won't list them all here, but you can review a few of them and select the one you like best.

Once you've decided on what script to use, or perhaps building it from scratch, you'll then need to decide what niche you'll be using for your article site. Basically selecting the article topics. This is limitless, but I've found the best articles to write on are health related or disease related. There are easy to research and you can crank out 5-10, 200-400 word articles in a couple hours. It's really not that hard once you've done your research.

The hardest part of this process is actually selecting a niche and choosing a domain name to match this niche. Many people have written on topics such as lose weight, diabetes, heart disease etc, but those niches are extremely competitive, so I wouldn't expect good rankings in the search engines immediately if you're thinking of keeping the site long term. That's why many do not develop these sites for long term, but only to quickly flip to someone else who may further develop the site.

Research diseases using google adwords keyword tool, simply type in the word "disease" and you'll get a list of the keywords and based on their bar ratings you'll be able to select which keywords you would like to focus on when creating your site. Google doesn't actually show the number of searches, but it's a good way to get other relevant keywords, so I use this tool first, then I select a few keywords and verify the number searches they receive each day using the Digital Point keyword selection tool.

Keys to a successful auction:

1) Always have the auction as one day for a quick sale. The longer your auction, the more time for people to forget about it.

2) Always post a BIN, as it encourages a fast sale.

3) Stay online for as long as possible while the auction is live, this is to ensure you reply quickly to all questions posted in the thread.

Follow these 3 simple guidelines and you can have a successful auction. Obviously you'll need to ensure that your articles are also well written and that the site is fully functional. Once you've done this, there is no reason why you won't have a successful sale.

Your goal with the site is to do the following:

1) Find a niche
2) Register a keyword rich domain name that matches the niche
3) Create the website either manually or via script
4) Write 5-20 articles to ensure the site has good content

Once you've completed the above, you can then place the site for sale on forums such as Digitalpoint and Sitepoint. I've listed below some article based sites that have either sold quickly or is a good example of how easy it is to quickly create an article site and within the same day have it sold. My personal example is listed below. If you can simply follow this site's guideline you should be able to duplicate this process as well. Obviously ensuring you choose a different niche each time.

My Example With Proof

Site: http://www.celiacdiseasesite.com

If you look at the domain name, I focused on the keyword “celiac disease”. This is searched for over 42,000 times per month. This is key as the person buying the site needs to know that the site actually is targeted to a specific keyword that is actually receiving searches.

The next thing you'll notice is that I registered the domain name on April 25th, 2007. You can verify this by doing a whois check, or you can simply click this link to verify http://www.whoiszap.com/celiacdiseasesite.com

I've posted screen shot above as well. Okay, I've registered the domain name, and now it's time to write the articles. The articles took me about 2 hours to write. I wrote 8 articles, not including the one used on the homepage, giving the site a total of 9 pages. To write the articles I simply researched as much information as I could find online about “celiac disease” and wrote the articles based on my interpretation.

If you visit the site you'll notice that each article focuses on a particular keyword that deals with “celiac disease”. This is important for search engine indexing, and also a key selling point to mention when selling the site. I've made sure that each page has a keyword rich URL extension that matches the content of the page.

Important: Ensure your articles are 100% unique, do not copy anything, be creative and write your own article from scratch.

Once I've written my articles, I then needed to find a template to use. In my example I did everything from scratch. I didn't use any scripts, since I wanted more control over how the site was developed. Installing a script may make this process easier, but I preferred to do it manually.

I used a free open source template. You can find a wide variety at www.oswd.org or free-css-templates.com. CSS based templates are the best to use as they are more search engine friendly with regards to indexing. The goal is to give the search engine spiders quick access to your main site's content. CSS based designs eliminates the need for tables, which consumes much of the coding of your page, therefore your actual content appears higher within the source code, and receives more relevance points. This is a key selling point as well for your site.

Okay, after I setup the layout, and copy/paste my articles into the design, what's next? Well, now it's time to sell your site. This process so far only took me 2 hours or perhaps less.

Review My Auction Thread

http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=310489

I started the thread at 1:39 P.M EST, and within minutes I had a bid placed on my auction. I set the BIN on the auction at $99 as I considered that a fair price for the site. Approximately 11 hours later, the site was SOLD for BIN. All of this took place the same day! It's really that simple to create and sell a site within one day for an easy profit.

My total out of pocket costs: $9.12 (domain registration)
Gross Income: $99-$3.17 Paypal fee = $95.83
My total profit: $86.71

Not bad for two hours work, that is like being paid $40+ per hour :)

Below I've listed some other examples of content sites being sold on DP.

Example #1: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=308959

On the above thread this person created a 15 page article site on smoothie juice recipes. The site has a nice header, and some decent articles, nothing too long or complex. He's attempting to sell the site for $295. That's a bit of a stretch but it's still possible that he'll receive good bids. At the time of writing this report the highest bid was $50 which is more in the range I mentioned with regards to expectations for creating and flipping ready made article sites.

Example #2: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=305652

The above thread the person is selling a site with real estate related articles. In it he mentions the site has 21 unique articles, which is the key selling point to the site. At the time of writing this report, the highest bid was $200. Providing he wrote the articles himself (probably less than a day to do this if he's cranking them out fast), he'll make a nice profit. I should also note his site was brand new, so he's not relying on page rank or anything like that as the selling point. The value is with the articles being unique.

Example #3: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=308196

This particular auction was successful and was near the range I mentioned. This is probably the best module to follow. The site had 12 articles, used a neat template, and had a reasonable buy it now price to ensure it is sold quickly. The site in this thread sold for $110.

Those are just three examples, along with mine on how you can create and flip article sites for an easy profit. The hardest part of this process is writing the articles and finding a niche. With regards to a niche you need to think outside the box, and ensure that the niche is actually a topic that receives searches, if not you're wasting your time. Be sure to do your keyword research on any niche topic before committing, and always try to register a keyword rich domain name as well.

I won't dive into too much more here, since this is really a simple process. You simply find a niche, register a keyword rich domain, setup the site on your hosting account, setup a CMS script or create the site manually, write the articles, then sell the site. This can all be done in a day :)
