I really enjoyed the show I thought it was informative for someone like myself. I feel that way because I have built my on podcast/website/show and I am always looking for new ways to increase the traffic flow and build a community of my own as well. Do you have any shows about podcast networks that support one another. just curious.

    Hey Sultan,

No podcasts about podcast networks just yet :) glad you enjoyed the podcast. I do think 50+ blogs is a lot and it’s interesting to see how he runs that business.

  4. I also avoid company names in my domains, as Sujeet Patel you will end up investing a lot of work on an website and eventually they will come for you and you will need to take it down. So be original and develop your own brand, no matter the niche.

  7. Hi Chris,
I have enjoyed all your podcasts and appreciate the effort that goes into them. I hope to do a podcast one day. I usually listen using an ipod while driving and have one ear bud in so that I can listen to what’s going on outside the vehicle (sort of company policy). In this episode you had the audio from each person going through separate speakers which made it necessary to have both earbuds in. Could I suggest that you not do this? It might just be me but maybe others noticed the same thing.
PS – I know the left speaker in my wife’s car is broken so it wouldn’t work in her car either. Thanks again, David

    Hey David,

Yah this was one of those odd instances where I couldn’t combine them into the same stereo audio file as I had to boost the strength of his voice later. I’ll make sure I check my levels better next time lol so I don’t have to do it this way.

Hmm, pretty decent article but I sort of got lost with the “fake it till you make it model” comment Sujeet made about traffic and advertisers??

From my personal experience, I’ve run several sports related sites, all of which apparently have more traffic than the sites Sujeet mentioned (as per Alexa and Compete rankings) but I’ve found the sports niche to be one of the worst performing niches as far as monetization goes.

Maybe I’m doing something wrong or maybe I need to fake it to make it ?

  12. Before hearing this podcast I never thought that Blog name can play such a curial role …. !!! Niche of website also hold importance, but if niche is popular and people do lot of searching then surely you will get huge amount of competition that means you need to put tons of effort for your blog..! but i guess one can deal with such challenge by applying good SEO strategy ..
nice information about Text Link Ads … in was not aware about this stuff before, in someway or other this 30 minute podcast helped me a lot to learn new things … thanks for sharing it Chris

I just found your podcast and started listening while at work. Even though I’m not a sports fan, I found this podcast episode to be quite helpful. This gives me some food for thought when it comes to domain naming. Thanks for the excellent podcast.
