Pepperjam Store Builder Launches

I’ve been a member of Pepperjam Network for several months now and get emails from time to time about new companies they’ve affiliated with or new product launches. I usually just disregard them unless they relate to a new site I’m launching or already have in my portfolio. However, I couldn’t let this one pass by because this new program shows a lot of promise. First off – if you don’t have a Pepperjam account sign up for one because it’s free and you won’t be able to take advantage of this without it. Second read their official blog on the Pepperjam Store Builder launch.

The program basically allows you to pick various Pepperjam affiliate offers and create a store (or rather the code to create a store) that you can insert into your website. So if you have a site about Halloween you can use their affiliate partners that offer Halloween related goods to create a store. In fact – that’s what they did for their demo:

Store Builder Demo

As you can tell this looks very reminiscent of Build A Niche Store (BANS); however, you have access to many more partners besides just eBay. This is the part that excites me the most – that and the fact that Pepperjam store builder is free as long as you have an account.

My first impressions offer up one concern about the program URLS however, but because this is still a beta perhaps they will be addressed when the final version launches. You can see what I’m talking about by heading over to the Store Builder Demo to check out the first product’s URL on the list:

http://www.pntrac.com/t/1-1036-185-1036?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.costumekingdom.com%2Fp-6520-adult-costumes-ice-cream-cone.aspx

It’s so easy to see that this is an affiliate link, but that it’s also for something at costumekingdom.com. Why isn’t this masked in any way? BANS does a better job at this than Pepperjam and PHPBay Pro is the best (see my Video Game Fonts site to see PHPBay Pro in action).

So what do you think Pepperjam is this something you will fix in the final release? (I know at least one of you over at PJN will read this…)

What do the rest of you think of this new program? Do you agree with me about the URL’s? In any case, I’m pretty excited because it’s free and all the competing solutions cost money (i.e. BANS and PHPBay Pro) which only offer eBay as a program solution.

I’ll be sure to incorporate Pepperjam Store Builder into one of my future $100 a month case studies to see how it performs so make sure you subscribe to my RSS feed now :) for future updates.

Sign up for Pepperjam if you don’t already have an account. They’re still offering $10 for new publisher sign ups and things should only get better from here.

Thanks for the response Kris. That’s great news. Being an affiliate company you obviously know how important masking affiliate links is so I’m just happy to see that it will be addressed in a future update. I just wanted to point that out as feedback as quickly as possible.
