2 years ago I was fired from what I hope will be my last “normal job.” I first wrote about my fireversary last year while I was in Blog World. When I wrote last year’s update I mentioned that I was still trying to reach my goal of earning more than $150,000 in 2010 and at the time I hadn’t sold Netbook Reviews in a deal for six figures. Without that sale it would have been close but I did in fact sell the website and I was able to meet crush my target income goal for the year. I felt a huge sense of accomplishment that I could be successful with this full time.

The seventh podcast episode is now live on iTunes. In this podcast episode I speak with Jason Yelowitz who has generated millions of dollars in commissions as an affiliate marketer and recently released the book Bathrobe Millionaire.
On this podcast Jason talks about how he first got started in this business back during the high valuations dot com era in the early 2000′s. After running a few other internet businesses he transitioned into the life of an affiliate marketers and focused on building his business out of his home.
It’s a very interesting story filled with some big successes and big failures. I love being able to speak with other internet entrepreneurs that have been involved for years in the market because the advice shared based on experience is well worth listening to. I hope you enjoy it!

Amazon re-opened their affiliate program last week after stupid short sighted governor Jerry Brown signed legislation repealing the affiliate nexus law that forced Amazon to shut down their affiliate program earlier this year. This is a huge win for those of us that earn a living online and great news for those California affiliates who can now gear up to make some holiday Amazon cash. My record Amazon earnings still stands at just over $13,000 in December so make sure you take advantage of the holiday shopping season. Now for the 20+ of you from California that refunded EasyAzon after the nexus tax legislation was signed into place (completely understandable – I’d do the same thing) You can still buy EasyAzon at the same price before it’s raised in late October / early November when v2 is released. (Here’s why I had the plugin built in the first place.)

One of the main reasons why I started this blog was to talk about what you can do to make money on the internet and share my results with those that would listen (hence the name of my blog). I’ve written before about what works for me including selling products on Amazon, buying websites and improving them, selling websites and creating information products about Halo (just to prove you can make money selling information about anything). Along this journey there have certainly been some challenges, but I never anticipated that I’d have as much trouble as I did when I set out to create my first iPhone app. I’ll get to the problems I faced shortly, but let me first explain why I wanted to make an iPhone app:
Why Bother Building An iPhone App In The First Place?
I hosted a webinar last night about niche websites and keyword research with Spencer Haws who wrote this excellent guest post on maximizing Adsense income back in April. Spencer earns between $10k – $15k per month with Adsense and has over 200 niche websites. On the webinar he talked a lot about keyword research and also demoed his new keyword research software Long Tail Pro that he just released which is currently on sale for $77 until Sunday at 7:00 PM PST ($20 off). I beta tested his software over a month ago and I’ve been pleased with how easily it helps with keyword research and researching potential domain name purchases for niche websites. You can watch a demo of the software below (near the later half of the webinar recording) and also learn some of the fundamentals from Spencer on how he builds his niche websites:

I used to be a Warrior Forum hater because of how much bad advice I’ve seen given on the forum (but then I remind myself that it’s a free forum and anyone can register). [click to continue…]
