I’m a bit late in celebrating my fireversary this year (see year 1 and year 2), but nevertheless another year has passed and it’s time for an update.

Right now if you’re reading this, are burned out by your current job or just need a change I want to offer you some encouragement. I’d like to share my story of getting fired 3 years ago as an illustration that with time, effort and hustle you can turn things around and make a better life for yourself. (Corny sounding? Maybe. But it’s true.)

6 years ago I earned $13 an hour testing video games:

The question is simple and rather than sway the results by adding any of my own opinions or clarifying why I’m posting this question now. I’ll simply ask you this question and analyze the responses so here we go:

Would you like to learn how to build successful niche websites or authority websites?

(Niche websites are generally smaller websites with less content, less earning potential – but less work)
(Authority websites are generally larger websites with more content, more earning potential – but more work)

This is a one question survey and I’d love to see what you’re most interested in learning about.

My first Kindle book is now out and available for download. I released this book because I wanted to summarize my thoughts about successful Amazon affiliate marketing based on my own experiences and to put all of my experiences into one location. This book is targeted towards beginner to intermediate level people interested in making money with Amazon.

The book title was a test of Amazon’s search engine to see if it can drive additional sales, but it’s also very descriptive to what the book is about.

Want to know how to write a book for Kindle?

I’ll be publishing a detailed blog post about the Kindle book publishing process later this month so be sure to subscribe or follow me on Twitter to read it when it’s published.

I made several mistakes during this process that cost me a lot of time and although I don’t expect to be making $35,000 per month off my Kindle books, I have learned a few things that you can help you out.

I’m shooting for a release date of my first book on Kindle before the end of this month. I need a bit of motivation to finish this up and not put it off any longer so I thought I’d share the release window publicly.

(I also can’t ignore how much people are making with Kindle any longer)

Now… for my very first Kindle book I’m doing something cool for my friends, customers and newsletter subscribers so if you sign up for my newsletter before the end of the month you’ll find out about it, but otherwise you’ll miss out.

More details to come soon; however, I will say that the first book I write will be about making money with Amazon’s affiliate program.

Note: The following is a paid review. If you would like your business to be reviewed please contact me here.

T3 Leads has been around for several years as I’ve actually done two previous reviews on them (way back in March 2009 and Sept 2010) and they’ve been continuing to develop their service and in this review I’ll tell you about some of the more recent improvements to their network.

T3 Leads is an affiliate company that pays out affiliates for sending qualified leads. They operate in a wide range of markets from pay day loans, home mortgages and insurance.

If you’re reading this blog post chances are you may also be on my free 10 day newsletter and on several other free newsletters as well from other bloggers where each person (myself included) are competing for your attention.

Unfortunately I’ve observed that statistically with free information your chances of reading that information (let alone taking action) are much lower. Let me explain…

Why You Are More Likely To Do Nothing When Learning For “Free”:

My last “real” job was as an inside sales rep and one of the things that I had to do every month and every quarter was to forecast my sales. So I would have routine meetings with management letting them know about my bigger deals, when they might close and to overall just track my progress to ensure I was hitting my quarterly plan. I used to hate doing this and after I got fired from my old job back in October 2009 and focused on running my own business I never really did sales forecasting or planning. In fact, my entire business goal used to be focused on just doubling my income (somehow) every year – which I more than accomplished in my first full year of self employment when I earned well over $100,000. In the following year I fell short of doubling my income (I sold a website in 2010 for six figures and in 2011 I was rebuilding that lost income stream). Now in 2012 I’m having a better year than ever before and I owe a lot of it to the goals I outlined at the start of 2012 and this simple $9.00 investment: [click to continue…]

Podcast episode number 13 is now live on iTunes. In this podcast episode I speak with Justin Cooke and Joe Magnotti from AdsenseFlippers.com. I’ve known Justin and Joe for about a year now and they have a very interesting business model around building niche websites with the help of their team of outsourcers and then reselling those websites on both Flippa and more recently on their blog.

There is a lot of great info on this podcast and Justin and Joe represent the first pair of business partners I’ve interviewed at the same time. I’m sure you’ll pick up some great tips when you listen to this podcast.
