To tell you the truth, I had always thought that using forums to get traffic would be just too much work. But getting a forum to give you more traffic then google! That’s got to be worth it.

The thing I guess will be to find the right forums.

Just check the rules and if you don’t see it just do it. If someone see’s it’s a cross post they’ll either say something or not. If they do just claim ignorance and cite the fact that their rules don’t state it’s not allowed.

I came over here form Jonathan Beebe’s blog makemoneyonlinework. He mentioned your post in relation to driving traffic from forums.

I use DP, V7N and webmaster-talk, and these tips are a real help, and I will implement these tips.

I had a question:

Regarding the ‘rules against cross posting threads’. I could not find anything regarding cross posting threads in most of the forums. Maybe I missed it, but do you by any chance know whether this is allowed or not in DP, V7N Forums and webmaster-talk?

Hey Marcus, I don’t know about it becoming less effective in the future. In the end as long as you add value to the community you join up people will always be curious about what type of other content you have on your blog. So if what you share is valuable people will always want to see more of it.

You have inspired me to do more forum posting. You have a new fresh approach and that is why it is so effective. But like most marketing ideas, it will become less effective the more other people use it.
