The reality of the low profit niche sucks.

What do you think about starting a forum on automobile stuff, as I have developed my blog on this niche, I am certainly interested to analyze what’s in there for me in forums.

Although there are ways to monetize the forum itself, it’s also another way to “build a list”, which = cash.

I haven’t stepped too far outside the marketing arena, so most of the forums I know of are attached to websites or blogs that already have a following to start with.

Much easier.

Hello Jim,

Yes I agree that some forums aren’t too profitable and I also agree that there is some over saturation. However, I think if you really want to “make it” with a forum you have to give a lot of hard upfront time, effort and money to launch any type of forum.

I’m just saying it’s important to spend a lot of time researching the niche that you’re going to start or buy a forum in so that you’re not just making a decision based on how you like a topic.

I really don’t see much profit opportunity in forums. I know that there are a few obvious exceptions that really pull in massive amounts of revenue every month… but most forum niche’s are already over-saturated and are going to be insanely hard to penetrate without a massive amount of funding beforehand.

Anyway, still good tips if someone wants to try things out in the internet marketing field.
