Hello folks sorry for the delay on this update. I was at a sales conference in Toronto CA that I just returned from today and I wasn’t able to get this story up before I left. Anyway, December marks the ninth month that I’ve offered advertising on my blog and for a very inactive month I still managed to make a decent amount of money. Continue reading below for the earnings break down by category.

Earnings Analysis:

I haven’t sold my 468 x 60 banner ad in a few months although, before that I sold it to the same advertiser for several months in a row at $35 a month. In the past it was one of my most popular ad slots so I highly suggest you snag it now while it’s available. Click here to purchase.

Also, another banner that was popular when I first started offering advertising is the 300 x 250 inline ad which is available for $75. When this slot is filled it is not rotated, in fact only one banner will be featured there and it is the only advertisement in the RSS feed as well. For several months it was sold out from the time I first began offering advertising so I am still surprised I haven’t sold it recently. Click here to buy it.

However, I did have plenty of 125 x 125 sidebar banner ad orders for only $15 a month I knew my banners weren’t overpriced so it’s nice to see three advertisers taking advantage of them now. Motive Interactive purchased a three month package as this was the final month of that package. I wrote a review on Motive Interactive here that you can check out. There are only 3 slots left so be sure to purchase a sidebar banner ad ASAP if you want a spot.

As I mentioned in last month’s post I’m going to be redoing text links soon. I believe that I could make more money if I offered extended periods of time for text links (i.e. 3 or 6 months) for page specific links as opposed to site wide links. That would open up my inventory and allow people to target pages that relate to their content more efficiently. What do you think? December Wrap Up and Goal Assessment

I normally kick off the closing comments with my wrap up and goal assessment with top posts of the month. However, as you may have noticed from my last post I hadn’t written a new post in a long time. In fact I only wrote two posts in December albeit – very good ones in my opinion:

Assessing December’s Goals:

Post Count:

I only wrote 2 posts in December which was 18 short of my previous goal of the month hah hah. However, I felt too constrained to write posts to fill a quota and have since redefined my thinking. Going forward I obviously intend to write more than just 2 posts next month but instead I want to only post my absolute best work.

RSS Subscribers:

I fell short of my 200 RSS subscribers goal. However, I did set a new high of 190 earlier this month (which bested my previous record of 178 subscribers). Considering I did this with only two posts I’d say it was a successful month. I really want to hit 200 subscribers by the end of January so I’m going to leave my goal at that. Income Expectations:

Sadly I did fall short on my income expectations; however, I’m not that worried about it. I still made over a hundred dollars on only two posts. I’m looking to hit $250 in January.
