Key Components of Building a Virtual Real Estate Empire

Anything you do on the ‘net can be repeated for multiple profits. So instead of working with a single domain, you’ll want to build an entire empire around your method of making money in a particular niche.

Virtual real estate is just a fancy way of saying “website.” It can be a blog, a site with articles on it, a service-oriented site, or even a directory of other links to more virtual real estate.

John Reese, one of the top marketers in the industry, coined the phrase VRE Empire (Virtual Real Estate Empire), in which a marketer doesn’t have just one domain, but a big network of sites owned by one person or company.

By using the word empire, you get the vision of how Trump does real estate in the brick and mortar world – he tackles land all around the world, and builds his brand around it.

A true Virtual real estate empire would be about 20 or more sites. Some marketers hoard thousands of sites all on the same topic, cross-generating traffic to each one and reaping the rewards through sales or advertising.

There are two ways you can go about building your VRE Empire. You can launch thousands of websites that don’t get as much attention from you, and therefore generate less traffic, but whose collective income adds up.

Or, you can focus all of your efforts on a few sites, build them up so that their traffic numbers and targeted audience is highly profitable, and watch the income roll in that way.

You might have sites with different purposes – websites with content and AdSense ads, blogs that promote affiliate products, or membership sites that teach your audience a certain skill that they pay for monthly.

Using stamp collection as an example, you might start your VRE Empire by building a content site with articles about stamp collecting as a hobby. Next, you branch out and create a link directory that houses all of the links you know that are beneficial to stamp collectors.

Building even more on your VRE Empire, you then start blogging about the topic, attracting the attention of fellow bloggers and search engine spiders alike. Soon you start an auction site where stamp collectors can gather and buy and sell stamps, giving you a portion of the proceeds in the form of listings and percentages of the sales.

As you expand your reach, you build your empire bigger and bigger, each time carving out a bigger piece of the niche pie. If you choose to churn out sites by the hundreds and thousands, then you’ll need to find places where you can get good content along with a tool like XSitePro that helps you create quick AdSense sites in a flash.

For content, you might use one of the many PLR (Private Label Rights) content sites that allow you to pay very little for ghostwritten articles that you can change to suit your own needs. Or, you might want to outsource the writing of articles to a freelancer on one of the many freelance sites like Elance, Rent-a-Coder, or Scriptlance.

If you’re working to establish a few “prime” virtual real estate pieces on the ‘net, then you’ll want to take more care in how you design and provide content for your websites. The goal here is to build a reputation in your niche and keep people coming back.

Next you’re going to learn how to take all of the so-so sites that are resting on various domains and flip them for cash! Because domains are so cheap, and hosting hardly costs anything, anyone can launch a website on a whim – and some of the domains they’re using could be developed into some great websites that are in high demand.
