Personally, i don’t unsubscribe if the blogger really does provide valuable information. It’s better to wait than reading a useless post.

I think that much more ‘dangerous’ is to write to often or off-topic. No posts means no RSS entries disturbing my work.

I do unsubscribe from dormant blogs only when I do my feed reader cleanup something like twice a year. Blogs in which signal vs noise level is to low gets deleted much more often )

I would say that if you have a blog and are posting just to post, that is more of a sure fire way to get people to unsubscribe than if you only post content that is worth sharing.

Rarely have I unsubscribed from a site because they didn’t post enough, but I have unsubscribed from those that post 2-3 worthless things every day or so. (with only the occasional good post)

I don't know if I agree. To be honest, I only check my feed reader every few days, and I had noticed that yours was on the list of blogs that hadn't been updating. Since I like to stay organized and free of clutter, I probably would have deleted you in the next week or so had you not posted an update. I think when you ask readers to subscribe to your blog you're promising to give them content, whether that's once a day or once a week, but dropping off of the face of the earth is just - well - disappointing. Happy New Year man! I was in the same boat for December and actually gained subscribers. Hopefully peeps stuck around for that reason (they liked the posts). I feel the same - quality posts are definitely better, which is why I even avoided the classic "where have I been" post. lol Hope you had a great holiday Cheers!
